In 2011 Sarah created a vision for a World First Expedition – climb New Zealand’s highest mountain, cycle hundreds of kilometres and then kayak across a treacherous ocean. And along the way, raise awareness and funds to combat skin cancer.
During her first attempt in 2011 sh,e was buried alive in an avalanche. She was on her last breath when dug out and sustained frostbite to her hands.
By January 2013 Sarah was back on the same mountain that had nearly taken her life, facing her fears and going on to complete the World First expedition.
Sarah turned 50 the day before she left on the second attempt.
Sarah understands fear and courage from the inside out. She has learned how to manage her fears whether it is climbing mountains, sea-kayaking or battling with skin cancer. She now shares these tools with others. She runs experiential workshops and presents to businesses that want to break through barriers and inspire even more success.
If you want to shrink fear and expand courage in your life and business then work with Sarah and see the results grow. Sarah works with teams and leaders through workshops, coaching and other experiential and leadership events.
Sarah’s most recent endeavour has been hosting a series of virtual seminars with adventurers from around the world, called the Adventure Heroes Series. Some are outdoor gurus, such as Kiwi mountaineer, Guy Cotter, and an Australian mother and daughter climbing team who, in May, bagged their seventh summit on their seventh continent with their successful climb of Everest. Others are adventurers in other ways – such as Tony Christiansen, a double amputee at aged nine, who has gone on to achieve more physical and personal success than many of us with two legs – from gaining a second degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do, to completing Rotorua’s Fletcher marathon and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
The idea is to let people hear how others have done it, to realise that dreams are achievable, and to gain practical tips on how to go about climbing their own metaphorical mountain
