Rohit Bansal
Co-founder | Snapdeal
Who am I
Rohit Bansal is an Indian Businessman and Entrepreneur, best known as one of the co-founders of Snapdeal, India’s leading e-commerce platform for selling over 30 million products. Rohit currently serves as the COO of Snapdeal. He co-founded this online store aside his school friend Kunal Bahl. Snapdeal was started in 2010. Rohit completed his engineering degree from IIT, Delhi.
Rohit hails from Malout, Punjab. He was born to a grain merchant. He completed his schooling from Delhi Public School, New Delhi. Rohit started with offline couponing business in 2007-08. E-Commerce Platform in India was still an infant then. Snapdeal took its new form in 2010. But very soon it expanded to one of the leading e-commerce platforms of India, dealing with a wide range of electronic, electric, fashion, accessories and other products. Till now the company has raised funding 7 times and it sells products to more than 6000 towns and cities across the country.
In 2014, Rohit was awarded BMA entrepreneur of the year- StartUp Award. Snapdeal had installed 15 hand pumps in Uttar Pradesh, India as an integral part of the company’s CSR Activities and this village is now known by the name, Snapdeal.com Nagar.
