Who Am I
Everest and Hillary: The mountain and the family are forever linked. On the 29th May,
1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made the historic first ascent
of the highest mountain on earth, Mt Everest. Peter Hillary was born 18
months later. Peter is an experienced speaker who enjoys
inspiring and motivating people to overcome their challenges in business, the
outdoors and their personal life. He is a dynamic and easy speaker with a
dry wit and a flair for storytelling, and is considered one of the world’s

Peter grew up
climbing mountains and participating in many of his father's expeditions and
projects - travelling to the North Pole, up the Ganges River in India, climbing
in the Himalayas, around the United States, and helping the mountain people of
In 2008, Peter
completed the Seven Summits,
the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.
Peter Hillary’s life is a testament to setting
goals and achieving them. His skill, driving ambition, and good judgement have
enabled him to Summit Mountains and survive ferocious storms and avalanches. He
is a communicator, a storyteller and a skilled assessor of what works and what
doesn’t in critical situations. With a history of world-class achievements in
climbing, he is an inspiring adventurer from one of the great families of
mountaineering. Like his father, the late Sir Edmund Hillary, who made the
first ascent of Mt Everest in 1953, Peter has summited Everest and reached the
South Pole on skis, forging a new route across Antarctica. The names Everest
and Hillary are forever linked, and Peter continues to climb in the Himalayas
and raise funds to support schools and hospitals for the people of the Everest
region in Nepal.
When Speaking Minds was founded in 2007 in New Zealand, little did we envisage that this would grow into an international brand with offices in India and London in less than a decade. We set up the business to share what we had learnt, from the privileges we have had in our jobs – of access to knowledge.
Bringing India to the rest of the world was our driving force.

their field. Raga D'silva quit her highly successful corporate career in
New Zealand in 2007, to set up a dream business of connecting
knowledge, insights, motivation from exceptional talent with the
